So I've been really inspired by Ali Edwards lately. She is so talented and really focuses on the photos and documentation and not too much on the "stuff" of scrapbooking. So, I bought some of her photo overlays and I tried them out in (my new) Photoshop Elements. I got a little sentimental :)
I can't wait to play with these more and incorporate them into my scrapbooking - especially Teagen's 1st year!

So, right before the dreaded November Stomach Bug hit our little family, Jeff and I went to my sister Laura's Halloween party. It was one of those nights where I got home from work and really just wanted to get into my pajamas and relax, but after much texting between Laura and myself, she talked us into going. We had such a great time, I'm glad we went!
Here I am in my totally rad 80s outfit! I would have loved this getup when I was in junior high! Teagen was trying to steal my bracelets!

I can't believe we are already in November. It sure did come up quickly!So far, I can say, November has not been kind to us.
Teagen came down with a stomach bug Friday night and Saturday, so he didn't dress up for Halloween. I am considering dressing him up and taking pics this weekend though, the costume is just too cute! Jeff and I caught the bug on Monday. Ugh! We got it so much worse than he did.
I stayed home yesterday, and sweet little Teagen took advantage of Mama being sick on the couch! I unwisely gave him all of his crayons and let him color in the room, thinking I'd get a little rest. A few precious moments later, I start hearing the cat's water fountain make a weird sputtering noise. I hobble over to it and see Teagen hovering over the fountain with his blanket in the water soaking it up while he is coloring in the bowl. Nice! Of course, I have to wash the blanket now. So I take Teagen back to the room and try to get him busy doing something and I see red crayon on the wall. Nice! Oh that kid!
Jeff and I are recuperating and back to work trying to get better, but it's taking longer than I thought it would.
Maybe I should listen to my Mom and start taking vitamins.

Teagen is in love with The Very Hungy Caterpillar by Eric Carle. He picks it out almost every night for his bedtime story. The nights that he doesn't pick it out, he hands me a book, then takes "pillar" and sits on the floor and reads it real quick then puts it away, then he's ready for his other book. Someone may even get a Very Hungry Caterpillar cake for his birthday. Shhhhhhh.

Teagen always wants apple juice and apple sauce and if we leave the fridge open long enough, he will open the fruit drawer, grab an apple and take a bite. I've been steaming them with cinnamon and sugar for him and they are yummy! If everything goes well after his dr appointment today (for a flu shot) we'll probably stop by the store for some apples to make apple bars :) [which I learned about here, then here].
These awesome apple candles that I really want to try too. I think they would be perfect Thanksgiving or Christmas decorations.

My plan is to make a 2-page layout for each month of Teagen's first year. I really think I can stick with this! I'm planning on picking just a couple of sketches from Becky's Sketches from Creating Keepsakes that way I don't have to put too much thought into the layout design. I may also add a layout of Teagen's birth.
